Rebekah Mannix, MD, MPH

Senior Associate Physician in Medicine, Division of Emergency Medicine, Boston Children’s Hospital; Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Emergency Medicine, Harvard Medical School.

Research Focus
Use of traumatic brain injury models to develop new biomarkers of injury and recovery.
Brief Research Description
Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is one of the most common causes of acquired intellectual or developmental disability in children. Even mild TBI can disrupt developmental trajectories for months to years. Dr. Mannix's research focuses on utilizing clinically relevant TBI models to develop new biomarkers of injury and recovery that can be used to evaluate objectively the efficacy of interventions both in the preclinical and clinical setting.
