Drug Discovery in Neuroscience Seminar Series

This spring the RSZ TNC is offering a short lecture series on preclinical drug discovery for the neuroscience community. Neuroscience drug discovery requires expertise from several disciplines represented by speakers in this series. It is intended to give translational neuroscientists at all career stages insight into the drug discovery process from experts part of the local pharmaceutical and biotechnology ecosystem.

The next installment of the NINDS “Challenges in Pediatric Neuroscience Research Webinar Series” will be on May 12 from 2-3 PM ET. This episode will be about remote neuropsychological assessments and features an interview with Heather Hazlett from the UNC IDDRC.

Dr. Heather Hazlett, University of North Carolina, is a licensed psychologist with a background in child neuropsychology and with research interests in neurodevelopmental disorders.

“Music and the Brain: from Health to Healing.” This full-day event will take place on Friday, January 20, 2022 from 9am-6pm. The program will focus on how music can elicit emotion, guide movement, and promote social inclusion particularly for individuals with ASD.  Music and the Brain has been organized by Drs. Michela Fagiolini and Takao Hensch, together with the Conte Center at Harvard and the Berklee School of Music.

The BCH Infantile Spasms (IS) Symposium will be a one-day gathering bringing together the clinical and research efforts related to IS from BCH and the Greater Boston area.  Boston Children’s Hospital through the Infantile Epileptic Spams Program and other research groups have been at the forefront of the outstanding clinical care and research productivity related to IESS. On October 11th these groups will come together for a symposium to explore the prospects of coordinating our collective efforts more closely to improve outcomes of babies with infantile epileptic spasms.
