Brief Research Description
Dr. Newburger's career has focused on leadership of clinical trials and prospective cohort studies investigating the neurological and developmental function in children with congenital heart disease. She is currently leading an NIH-funded multicenter project on genomic determinants of neurodevelopment and brain MRI measures in congenital heart disease, and she has led or been on the leadership team for clinical trials that assess risk factors for adverse outcomes in congenital heart disease.
